    The business process we will be focusing on is marketing and sales. It is a dynamic process because LA Fitness does not believe in using a standardized sales method. The company likes to personalize their sales approach to cater to each client’s specific needs. The scope of the process is a workgroup process because each department focuses on fulfilling their own tasks and goals.

           We will be analyzing LA Fitness’ FDMT system. This information system helps the gym know what members are a part of LA Fitness and it creates a personal member profile. This system scans their membership cards that relay the information onto the computer system. This information includes their names, number, how much they are paying per month, how often they come, and if there account is frozen, as well as a picture ID.

           Yes, our information system is a silo. This occurs because once the member profiles are inputted into the system their information is permanently stored in the database. We can resolve this problem by integrating the data into a single database and revise applications and business processes to use that database.

          CRM is customer relationship management, which includes customer service, sales and marketing. ERP is enterprise resource planning which is a host of applications known as modules, a database, and a set of essential processes for consolidating business operations into a single, consistent, computing program. EAI is enterprise application integration, which is a collection of software that assimilates existing systems by providing layers of software that connect applications together. Oracle and Microsoft Business Solutions are two major ERP vendors. LA Fitness is a sole proprietor that uses their own software system customized for their company, so we do not use any major vendors for our ERP.

           An inter-enterprise IS supports one or more inter-enterprise processes. Such systems typically involve thousands of users and solutions to problems require cooperation among different, usually independently owned, organizations. LA Fitness is certainly not an inter-enterprise IS because we do not exchange our data with other companies or gyms.
